Get ready to witness history in the making! For the first time ever, the heart of Shelbyville, Indiana, will transform into a sprawling, vibrant celebration of all things pop culture. On August 8, 2026, we are breaking the mold of the traditional indoor fandom convention and taking the excitement outside. From 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., the Town Square will become a sanctuary for fans of every kind, bringing our community together to celebrate your fandom and the stories, characters, and worlds we love.

Whether you’re a wizard, a wasteland wanderer, or a Jedi, there is a place for you here. Shelbyville Fandom Con is designed to be inclusive, featuring dedicated meetups for a massive variety of fandoms:

The Wizarding World: Grab your robes and wands for our Harry Potter meetup.

Anime & Manga: Connect with fellow fans and celebrate the best of Japanese animation.

Horror Fans: A gathering for those who love a good thrill!!

The Far Away Galaxy: Join the Star Wars meetup and show your allegiance to the Force (or the Dark Side).

The Wasteland: Prepare for the Fallout meetup—a perfect spot for survivors and Vault dwellers.

Comic Book Heroes: Celebrate the legends of the page with our Comic Fan gathering.

Entertainment & Competition:

The air will be filled with energy as a live DJ and musical performances keep the party going all day and night. But the stage isn't just for professionals—we want to see your skills!

We are proud to host Shelbyville’s Got Talent, a premier talent competition where locals can show off their unique abilities. If you’re more about the look than the act, don't miss our Cosplay Competition. We want to see your most intricate, creative, and stunning costumes as you compete for bragging rights and the chance to show off your hard work.

Shop, Eat, and Discover:

Explore a massive marketplace filled with vendors and a specialized Artist Alley. You’ll find everything from rare collectibles and custom crafts to a dedicated space for authors and illustrators to showcase their latest work. When you need to refuel, head over to our fleet of food trucks offering a variety of delicious eats to keep you powered up for the festivities.

This event is built on the belief that fandom is for everyone. Whether you’ve spent months sewing a screen-accurate costume or you just want to toss on your favorite graphic t-shirt and hang out, you are welcome here. We invite fans of all ages and all walks of life to come as they are. This is a day to be yourself, meet new friends, and celebrate the incredible communities that these stories have built.
